The issue of the parentage of Limousin bull Ballinloan Jaegerbomb has been well documented over the last two years.

The Handley family, which purchased the 24,000gns bull in 2015 for their Gunnerfleet herd, will now host a complete herd dispersal sale.

Posting on Facebook, the herd page said: “This is truly a sad, sad day and we will find it extremely difficult to let go of the herd. Our dispersal sale is on Sat 16th May 2020 at Borderway mart, Carlisle. And we hope all future buyers have the same success we had before purchasing Jaegerbomb.”

This sale date is one week after the British Limousin Cattle Society (BLCS) premier sale in Carlisle.

Speaking about the society on that Facebook post, the owners said: “We feel so let down by the BLCS over the handling of the Jaegerbomb saga. They are a charity that is supposed to look after its members (innocent members).”

Saga

Until this saga emerged, the herd would have been competing at the highest level, consistently achieving between £8,500 and £10,500 for their teams of bulls at the society premier sales.

Also in the Facebook post, they hinted that their battle for justice is not over and thanked all those who supported them.

“After months of gathering evidence internally and externally. With private detectives over these last few months. We are now ready to take things to the next level if we have to. This has all been mental torture over the past 18 months. We thank all our friends in the Limousin breed, fellow breeders, friends and family for their valued support.”
