Just 207t of Slovakian skimmed milk powder (SMP) remains in the EU’s intervention measure.

On Thursday, over 800t of SMP was sold out of the measure, 510t from Spain and 389t from the UK.

The product was sold out at an average price of €1,675/t, an increase from the €1,660/t which was the average price at the Easter tender.

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that a specific Slovakia tender is to take place to remove the last tonnage.

Global Dairy Trade

Earlier this week, prices at the Global Dairy Trade auction slid 1.2%. It marked the first decline in over six months in dairy prices at the auction.

This week’s auction was led lower by falling prices for butter and whole milk powder (WMP).
