A 20-acre Kildare farm will hit the auction room in April.

Located at Ballynamullagh, Kilshanroe, Co Kildare, the farm is situated about 8km from Enfield and the M4 motorway, just west of the village of Kilshanroe, circa 12km from Edenderry and about 45 minutes’ drive to Dublin city.

The land

Speaking with Irish Country Living, auctioneer Philip Byrne of Coonan Property said that the holding was of very good quality and noted its suitability to a number of enterprises.

The land is well fenced and has the benefit of well water, a cattle crush and electricity.

There are no buildings on the property. It is currently in grass and has been for the last number of years. The farmer selling the land is consolidating his holding.

It is guided for €200,000, or €10,000/ac. It is being offered by public auction on 11 April in the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, at 3pm.

The property is just on the market, but interest is strong. That is hardly surprising, given the proximity of the farm to Kilshanroe.

Byrne noted that a number of non-farmers from the locality have expressed interest. The agent said that given the location, future planning could be achieved.

The 250m of road frontage would certainly add to that appeal. In addition, there are a number of productive farmers in the area that are expected to be keen.
