In what was an infamous ballroom in its day and is now a well-established machinery dealership, Lynch & McCarthy held an information evening for local farmers and contractors in its Enniskeane branch in partnership with Kverneland Ireland.

Its purpose was to discuss the range of products on the market for the grass and spring tillage season. A broad range of equipment was on display including the Kverneland FastBale, which is a round baler capable of working non-stop. Plain and conditioner disc mowers along with twin rotor rakes and mounted tedders were also on show. There was even a new Kverneland two-furrow plough in stock for a local ploughing competitor.

Other machines in the line-up included a Kverneand Qualidisc, which is suitable for reseeding or working down ploughed ground and a iXter A12 mounted crop sprayer complete with aluminium booms.

Kverneland Ireland marketing manager Leonard Hovenden said: “This area of the country is very important to us from a sales point of view. The boom in dairy farming in this area coupled with the TAMS grants scheme is having a positive impact in sales. Even with the recent poor weather we are happy with our level of sales.”
