Young beef, dairy, sheep, horticulture, pigs, poultry and tillage farmers can apply in order to be crowned this year’s winner. An applicant must be under 35 on 1 January 2017 and have been involved in the running of the farm on which they currently work for at least three years.

The applicant can be either full- or part-time on the farm.

The winner of the 2017 Young Farmer of the Year will receive a travel bursary and the opportunity to experience farm practices abroad while developing their skills.
