Here in our garden we’ve got our summer and some winter plants into the ground and they have started to grow well in their new quarters. They include summer cauliflowers, golden acre cauliflowers, winter Brussels sprouts as well as broccoli, onions and scallions. I’m glad to report all are doing well.
Garlic is very forward and should be ready for an early harvest as it is setting seed heads now. We will cut them off and make some bug spray as aphids are becoming a problem. I put as many seed heads as I want into an old saucepan and boil for 30 minutes. It is then strained and stored in bottles and used when wanted. Dilute half a pint to a watering can of water and don’t dilute for rose black spot. I use it in the glasshouse and the smell is very strong.
