There was a top price of 20,000gns at the British Limousin Cattle Society’s annual Red Ladies derby and weaned calf sale in Carlisle on Friday.

Securing the bid was the day’s reserve overall champion Sarkley Odelisha from E H Pennie & Son. This August 2018-born heifer is described as one of the best heifers ever offered by the Sarkley outfit. Sired by the homebred Sarkley Jaguar, her pedigree includes Heros, Domino, Vantastic, Sympa and Objat.

This was the highlight of the sale. While a number of other four-figure sums were achieved, it was back on other years.
