One thing I’ve learned over the years is that recipes don’t need to be dumbed down to cater to kids.

Day one: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt and yeast. Add the sugar or honey to the hot water and stir to dissolve. Add the water to the dried ingredients and mix until everything is well combined. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave in the fridge overnight or for 12 hours.
Day two: Punch the dough down and divide into two equal pieces. On a well-floured surface, flatten and fold each piece of dough two times. Then shape each piece of dough into a log and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Leave the loaves at room temperature for 90 minutes. Ask an adult to slash the tops with a sharp knife and preheat the oven to 230°C.
Brush the tops of the loaves with water before baking for 35 minutes. Enjoy!
