ENJOY Cowboys and Heroes Family Fun Day in aid of Make A Wish Ireland on Monday 3 June. The best performers in country music will be there on the day with names such as Nathan Carter, Mike Denver, Derek Ryan, Robert Mizzel, Declan Nearney, Philomena Begley and many more. The many exciting activities include the wishes workshop, tractor run, balloon making, line dancing and lots more! As it is a charity event a “pay what you can” policy will be applied on the gate. Make A Wish Ireland’s mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

CELEBRATE the 2019 Vhi Womens Mini Marathon which takes palce on Sunday 2 June. In 1983, the inaugural event had 9,000 women entering and reached a record attendance in 2014 with over 41,000 women taking part. The event has grown in popularity as women have taken more interest in their own health and fitness. A staggering one million women have entered the event over its 36 years. Hundreds of charities are also big winners. The women decide themselves which charity they will support and many local causes gain vital funds from the event. CHALLENGE yourself at the Rhododendron Walking Festival taking place in Clogheen and Burncourt Co Tipperary over the June bank holiday weekend, from 31 May to 3 June. The event is now in its second year, following an extremely successful inaugural event in 2018. The weekend itinerary includes walks for all abilities as well as family friendly events on the Sunday and Monday. The festival begins on Friday evening with a dinner theatre event at Clogheen Community Centre. Three walks will take place on Saturday with varying difficulty and another three walks highlighting the rhododendron blooms in the Knockmealdown Mountains will take place on Sunday. VISIT Ireland’s largest sculpture exhibition, including the biggest collection of Salvador Dali works ever seen on this island, taking place from 19 May to 2 June. The Garden Sculpture Exhibition will run in the landscaped gardens and hippodrome at Russborough, Co Wicklow, with admission free of charge. The legendary artist Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was best known for surrealist paintings, outrageous statements and magnificent moustaches. Thirty years after his death, the Garden Exhibition at Russborough will feature 14 Dali sculptures, plus more than 100 other works by some 40 leading Irish and international artists.
