The annual British Limousin Society Red Ladies derby and weaned calf show took place in Boderway, Carlisle, on 9 December, which saw over 100 pedigree Limousin females brought forward for the final event of the 50th anniversary year.

The task of judging fell at the hands of Nia Griffiths of Loanhead Farm, who selected Lowflan Suzie from the herd of Ian Wilson and Carol Wood as the show champion.

Suzie, who sold for 5,000gns, is a January 2022-born heifer sired by Gunnerfleet Eros and was bred from a Plumtree Fantastic cow.

The reserve champion title fell to November 2021-born Sarkley Sybella from E H Pennie and Sons. The Burnbank Officer daughter, who is bred from a Haltcliffe Doctor daughter, sold for one of the highest prices at 14,000gns.
