Macra na Feirme members all over Ireland will know Carmel Dooner as the person who looks after member affiliations and has been with the organisation for more than four decades.

Carmel joined Macra in 1972 before the Irish Farm Centre in Bluebell was opened and is currently the longest serving staff member of any organisation within the building.

Carmel has worked with 22 of Macra’s presidents, from Declan Martin (1971/’73) to Kieran O’Dowd of today. She retires on Friday 29 August. Macra members and staff wish her well in her retirement.
