A man who arrived in his car from the UK to a port in the Netherlands, complete with sandwiches, found out that Brexit means Brexit when it comes to food.

A customs official told him that “since Brexit, you’re no longer allowed take certain foods to Europe, like meats, fruits, vegetables, fishes, those kinds of stuff”.

The man was asked if he had meat on all of his bread.

Welcome to Brexit sir, I’m sorry

He replied “yeah”, to which the customs official said “then we take them all, I’m sorry”.

The haulier asked if he could take off the meat and keep the bread. “No, everything will be confiscated. Welcome to Brexit sir, I’m sorry,” said the official.

People going from a non-EU country to the EU are not allowed bring meat or dairy products with them for animal health reasons.
