USA - November inflation falls

US consumer price inflation fell to 7.1% in November, its lowest in 2022, although food price inflation was 10.6%.

Brazil - harvest forecast to be record high

The Brazilian grains harvest (cereals and oilseeds) is forecast to be a record 293.6 million tonnes in 2023, an 11.8% increase relative to the 2022 harvest.

Holland - milk price calculation revised

Friesland Campina, the Dutch-based dairy co-operative, has revised its milk payment structure for 2023, with the ratio of protein, fat and lactose components shifting from 10:5:1 to 6:4:0. The move is on the back of record butter prices over the last 12 months.

New Zealand - COVID hits processing capacity

Beef+Lamb NZ have reported that over the past two weeks, sheepmeat processing capacity has been reduced by 20% to 30% and beef by 10%, with COVID causing labour shortages.
