Aurivo Co-op has made an application to the High Court for a winding up of livestock export company Quinn International Livestock Limited. The petition has arisen because of sums owed by the company to the co-op’s marts, the Irish Farmers Journal understands.

The application was made earlier this month in the name of Tomás McHale, Aurivo’s legal counsel and company secretary. The case is due to be heard in the High Court on 9 October 2017.

Last April, another mart group, Mayo Sligo Co-operative Livestock Mart Ltd which operates Ballina Mart, obtained a commercial judgement against Quinn International Livestock Limited for the sum of €75,744.

The company is based at Creeve, Mount Temple, Moate, Co Westmeath.
