Highland Perthshire farmer Martin Kennedy will be the next NFU Scotland president as he stands unchallenged for the position at the AGM in February.

The position has become vacant as Andrew McCornick steps down as president at the end of his maximum four-year term.

Martin Kennedy is currently vice-president having previously served as the less favoured areas committee chair.

He runs an upland hill farm with cattle and sheep.
