Mastek Ltd, based in Cavan, has added a “farm spec” trailing shoe solution to its range. The new Mastek Micro trailing shoe is available in 7m and 7.5m working widths and is designed for customers wanting a straightforward system that’s easily operated.

Similar to the higher specification Eco trailing shoe, the Micro model is capable of exerting 8kg downwards force on each coulter to ensure slurry is placed under the cover of grass, preventing contamination.

The unit’s hydraulic system is designed so that it lifts and tilts for headland turning. The booms continue to fold for transport, and this is all done using just one spool valve.

The chassis-mounted solution has been designed for retrofit to new and existing tankers equipped with brackets. Prices start at €14,630 plus VAT.

Fitted to the new trailing shoe range is the firm’s new SuperCut Micro macerator. The SuperCut Micro is essentially a smaller brother to the proven SuperCut macerator, designed for the smaller working width applicators.

“The SuperCut macerator was designed for our 12m booms which had 48 outlets. When we were using our SuperCut macerator on 7.5m applicators, only 28 ofthese outlets were required,” explained Paul Quinn, managing director.

Our new SuperCut Micro macerator is specifically designed for smaller applicators, where it is much more efficient and 35% lighter.”
