McHale Plant Sales is set to exhibit a selection of Merlo and Komatsu machines, with a notable crossover between certain items which are used in both the agricultural and construction/materials handling sectors.

Showcased will be a number of models from the Italian-manufactured Merlo Turbofarmer range. One model new to the show will be the heavy-duty Merlo TF65.9-170, which is proving to be a popular choice, fitting into most agricultural applications.

The unit is powered by a Fiat powertrain technologies (FPT) engine. This four-pot locomotive churns out a sizeable 170hp. The handler weighs in at 11,200kg and boasts a 6,500kg lifting capacity. With an 8.8m lifting range, the machine is equipped with Merlo’s in-house-designed CVTronic continuous variable transmission. The CVTronic is hydrostatic and allows for continuous acceleration from 0km/h to 40km/h.

Also on show will be a Merlo Panoramic model P40.17, complete with a lift capacity of 4t, a maximum lift height of 7m, and a drive speed of 35km/h.

The WA100M-8-wheel loader is powered by a 94hp common rail direct injection engine and has an operating weight of 7,200kg.

Komatsu

From the Komatsu stable will be the WA100M-eight-wheel loader. The loader is powered by a 94hp common rail direct injection engine and has an operating weight of 7,200kg. The higher-specification high-flow optional version has a maximum flow rate of 120l/min at 210 bar.

The new loader is equipped with a fully automatic hydrostatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The machine has an increased travel speed of up to 40km/h. The 40km/h transmission has three speed ranges: creep 0-10km/h, 0-15km/h and 0-40km/h. It also comes with an electronic controlled suspension system as an optional extra. The loader is sitting on planetary rigid axles with automatic limited slip differentials in both axles, with 100% locking differentials as an option. It has a 110l fuel tank.

In addition, the firm will also showcase Komatsu’s short-tail swing PC138US-11.
