The Pattons' Castle Adventure Open Farm will host an open farm event in on 2 June in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal.

There will be live music by Paul Kelly and a tractor/machinery display on the day.

No booking is required, with an entry fee of €8.50. The event is in association with Grassmen.

Diversification

Six years ago, the Patton family farm lost over 50% of its herd after a TB test.

Rachel Patton described the unfortunate event as “a devastating blow - the farm went from a thriving business to being on its knees”.

Rachel told the Irish Farmers Journal: “We had to diversify and decided to launch an open farm in 2014.

"It has gone from strength to strength and we are over the moon to be holding an event on the farm.”

The adventure farm is located at Ballymacaward, Wardtown Castle, Ballyshannon, Co Donegal (F94 C1W7), and for more information, click here.
