It was interesting to see a brand new Styyr Terrus 6300 tractor recently sold to a Co Meath farmer. The stylish machine is the first new Steyr tractor to be sold in Ireland for a number of years.

The 300hp workhorse is currently out sowing winter barley and has clocked up over 200 hours since its arrival.

Finnegan Farms, a potato producer based in Balrath, purchased the tractor to pull a 4m trailed Lemken drill, while the high-horsepower tractor means the company can opt for a larger 5m drill in the future.

The Steyr Terrus 6300 is comparable to a Case Optum 300 – they are made in the same factory.
