A new cereal fungicide will hit the market in time for the 2020 season.

BASF has received Irish authorisation for a new fungicide active ingredient, Revysol.

Revysol is an isopropanol-azole and is the first of its class to be introduced to the market. It has novel molecular and formulation characteristics which may prove useful in improving its longevity.

Revysol shows the same activity against septoria as older azoles such as epoxiconazole and prothioconazole before their efficacy against the disease declined.

Effective

On ramularia in barley, Revysol is so far proving effective against the disease.

Two products containing the new active ingredient, Lentyma and Revystar XL, have been cleared for use in wheat, barley and oats will be officially launched in Ireland on 6 February 2020.
