The McHale C4 silage feeder and straw blower series now features four models with capacities ranging from 2.2m³ to 6.85m³.

Ahead of the upcoming winter season, all machines in the C4 range will now come with a new Expert Control console which features a handheld remote control for easier operation.

In addition, all machines can be fitted with an optional dust suppression kit. This kit sprays a mist of water onto the crop as it passes through the chute. McHale say this feature was implemented for animal health when working with straw in an enclosed area.

The most recent introduction to the range is the flagship C490, which was launched last year.

With a 6.85m3 loading volume, the new machine will be readily available for the coming season. McHale claims that the machine can handle three 5ft round bales of forage.

Overall design is similar to the existing range. However, the 3m hydraulically driven chain and slat conveyer is split into two. McHale says the machine will discharge material up to 18m.

The machine has a twin-speed gearbox, a 1.57m diameter flywheel with six blowing paddles, and a belt-driven rotor which means the system can be hydraulically engaged or disengaged. The feed rotor is equipped with 56 blades mounted on seven discs and runs independent to the flywheel. The C490 is priced at €24,800 plus VAT.
