These latest models still see the full frame chassis that already exists in the C451R. The balers use a fast-release system in conjunction with a high-capacity feeding system.

Performance

While in the design stages, John Deere’s main focus was on performance and ability to work in heavy wet grass conditions, as well as being capable of handling dry straw and producing high-density bales consistently.

A choice of 13 or 25 knives are available with the high capacity MaxiCut HC rotor. The pickup features a five tine bar cam track design with stainless steel stripper bands and 6mm tines.

The rotor sees the addition of hardox steel adding to the machine’s overall strength, a key principle in the design stages.

Both versions also incorporate a full width parallel drop-floor system, operated from the tractor cab, which enables blockages to be removed instantly.

As on the C441R wrapping baler, the C451R and C461R now feature a 15% faster wrapper working at 40rpm and an 18% faster table transfer system compared with the previous C440R model, to deliver an enormous increase in productivity.
