Paddy prepares a big welcome

Waterford singer Paddy O’Brien is all set for his annual get-together, which will be staged over two weekends in the southeast. This marks the 24th year since Paddy launched the series and it has become an annual venture for many of his friends on both sides of the Irish Sea.

The first weekend sees Paddy return to Lawlor’s Hotel in Dungarvan on 16-18 February. Paddy and his band will be joined by Robert Mizzell, Gerry Guthrie, John McNicholl and their bands, as well as by Barry Doyle, Pat Daly, Teddy and Cathal Barry, New West, and Pat Tobin.

The Clayton Whites in Wexford will host the second weekend on 2-4 March. Joining him on this occasion will be Patrick Feeney, Lisa McHugh, Robert Mizzell, Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis, and Tony Theresa and the Stars.

There will be a double bill each night, with dancing from 9.30pm as well as an afternoon dance on Saturday and Sunday from 3pm to 5pm. Admission to nightly dance is €20 and the afternoon is €10. Tickets for all dances will be available at the door.

Special weekend package deals are available in Dungarvan and Wexford and for more information on these, call Clayton Whites on 053-912 2311 or Lawlor’s Hotel on 058-411 22. You can also visit Paddy’s website for further information on the weekends. See www.paddyobriensinger.com.
