Concerns over RHI boiler inspections

The executive chair of the group representing Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) accredited boiler owners has outlined his unease about the conduct of inspectors carrying out a series of pilot audits on boilers.

Andrew Trimble from the Renewable Heat Association for NI (RHANI) has written to the Department for the Economy Permanent Secretary, Dr Andrew McCormick, expressing concerns about both scripted and unscripted questioning of boiler owners by auditors.

Trimble has also written to RHANI’s 544 members giving advice on the inspections.

The issue is to be raised again by RHANI representatives during a planned meeting with Dr Andrew McCormick on Monday.
