Compound feed prices are set to increase by around €20/t as the hike in ingredient and transport costs are passed on to farmers.
While none of the companies would comment on the record, the Irish Farmers Journal understands that the hike in prices is on the way.
One feed supplier who did not wish to be named, pointed out that soya prices have increased by close to €100/t on spot markets over the last few weeks.

The cost of other raw materials had also increased, albeit at a far slower rate, on the back of the continuing turmoil in global energy markets and restricted supplies.
“This increase is a mix of raw materials, the cost of running the mills and transport,” the feed supplier said.
The €20/t increase will see the cost of the average dairy ration and beef finishing ration move to €340-350/t bulk delivered.
