Some 21 farms across 12 counties will open their gates on 31 August to the public for a free one-day sustainable farming showcase.
This 'Inside the gate' event is organised by Farming for Nature.
It is designed to boost public understanding of the importance of nature-friendly farming, including practices that support healthy soils, clean water, diverse habitats and sustainable food production.
The farms are in a range of counties in Tipperary, Wexford, Mayo, Roscommon, Clare, Cork, Kildare, Kilkenny, Galway, Kerry, Laois and Limerick.
The farmers work with Farming for Nature to promote sustainable agricultural processes on farm, to make the farms nature friendly.
Farmers are encouraged to register for the event. The events are free, but with limited capacity at each event.

The full list of farms and the link to register can be found here.
Farming For Nature was set up in 2018 as a non-profit project established under the Burrenbeo Trust.
Co-founder Brigid Barry said: “The events will give our participating farmers the opportunity to showcase the importance of farms which produce food with nature in mind.”

“This is an opportunity to give urban and indeed rural people access to not just a working farm, but one that approaches food production in a sustainable and nature-friendly way.”
