Following the success of the Farm Family CPD (continuous professional development) initiative in 2025, FRS Training has launched the 2026 edition of its free farm safety initiative available for 300 Irish farm workers and families.

The online farm safety programme, funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, is aimed at improving safety and wellbeing for all generations of farming families.

The programme, led by FRS Training in partnership with the Health and Safety Authority, IFA, FBD, Teagasc and Irish farm families, includes five free online courses designed to change attitudes and behaviours around farm safety.

The courses are suitable for all generations and aim to address risks such as tractor and machinery safety, chainsaw and quad bike operations, livestock handling, slurry safety and general farm wellbeing.

Head of sales and operations at FRS Training, Ben Fearn, said that this initiative comes as farming remains one of the most dangerous occupations in Ireland.

“Keeping up to date requires training over time. CPD gives all people over 12 years of age who live or work on a farm in Ireland, the opportunity to do this. Whether you’re 18 or 80, let’s work together to reduce risks, save lives, and build a culture of safety across Irish farms,” he said.

The training is available free of charge until the 30 October 2026. For more information, click here.
