A total of €350m in scheme payments will land in farmers’ accounts over coming days, Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon has announced.
The payment run includes the €281m balancing portion of farmers' 2025 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complementary Redistribution Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS), as well as €37m in Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) balancing funds.
It also includes the commencement of €32m worth of payments under the Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers (CISYF).
This payment run will take the total paid out under BISS, CRISS and CISYF to €819m to the 116,681 farmers who will have received funding under these schemes.
Eligible
Some 98.4% of eligible farmers who applied for these schemes will have received a payment once the run is complete.
“The BISS, CRISS and ANC are designed to provide direct income support to Irish farmers to underpin their continued sustainability and viability,” Minister Heydon commented.
“The €819m paid under the 2025 BISS and CRISS and the €241m paid under the 2025 ANC are vital supports for farm families across the country and to the overall rural economy.”
Minister Heydon said the funds issuing under the CISYF “helps to underpin generational renewal in the agriculture sector”.
“I am pleased to see so many young farmers benefitting from the increased level of support available under the scheme in the current CAP to kickstart their careers in farming.”
