Keynote speaker MEP Billy Kelleher opened proceedings before two engaging panel discussions explored opportunities in agriculture and rural diversification, sparking lively debate and reflection among attendees.

On Sunday, attention turned to beef and sheep stock-judging at Clonakilty Agricultural College. After a competitive day of judging and scoring, Jessica Wilson (Raphoe) claimed first place in sheep stock-judging, bringing more silverware home to Donegal. Anthony Buckley won the senior beef stock-judging, while Conor O’Riordan topped the U23 category. Congratulations to all who competed – the level of participation was truly inspiring.

Beyond the competitions, the Carbery Macra Rally committee went above and beyond to deliver a weekend brimming with variety and fun. From Pilates and road bowling to A Taste of west Cork, members savoured local food, drink, and culture – a perfect showcase of what the region has to offer.

At Sunday’s banquet, it was announced that Limerick Macra will host Rally 2026, so next year all roads will lead to the Treaty County. Carbery Macra has certainly set the bar high – but there’s no doubt Limerick will rise to the challenge.
