Bóthar remains committed to its core project of supplying impoverished farmers and communities with cows, following the settlement of its case against their former CEO.
It emerged in recent days that the charity had finally reached a settlement in the civil action it took against former CEO, David Moloney.
That related to the alleged misappropriation of over €1m of funds over a 20-year period.
Mr Moloney resigned in 2021. When contacted by the Irish Farmers Journal Bóthar had no comment to make on the settlement.

Meanwhile, Bóthar is appealing for in-calf heifers, to continue the work it has been doing since 1991.
“The impact of a single donated animal can last for generations, creating opportunities and hope long after the journey is complete,” said Bóthar CEO Áilish O’Reilly.
At present, the focus is on assembling a final shipment to tiny Balkan country Kosovo.
That takes place in October, with the focus returning to shipments of cows to Africa.
