Macroom Mart will host a charity auction on Saturday to raise funds to aid the recovery of a young farm incident survivor from Beara, Co Cork.

A Charolais-cross-Belgian Blue bullock, donated by a local farm family, will be put up for auction in support of Féile O’Sullivan.

Féile suffered life-changing injuries in a farm incident this summer which required her to undergo a double leg amputation.

The auction will take place as part of Macroom Mart’s weanling show and sale and special suckler sale, taking place after prizewinners are sold.

Donation

The bullock was donated by local farmers Daniel and Edwina Power from Dunmanway, who bought the animal at last year’s show and sale.

“Macroom Mart is proud to host this event and invites all farmers, neighbours and members of the wider community to come along and show their support for Féile and her family,” a spokesperson for the mart said.

“Every bid and every show of solidarity will help make a real difference.”
