Carbery is the latest dairy processor to follow suit and announce a cut to October milk price.
It has announced a base price cut of 3.5c/l, excluding VAT, for October supplies. However, at 38.81c/l, excluding VAT for last month's supplies, Carbery is still well ahead of other co-ops in terms of price.
A 0.5c/l somatic cell count bonus and 1.25c/l 'FutureProof' sustainability bonus will be paid on top of the base price also.

A spokesperson for Carbery said: “Very strong global supply continues to outpace consumption and is weakening prices being achieved in dairy markets. This, in turn, impacts the returns we can make on our products. While we will make every effort to pay the best price we can based on market returns, we will also prioritise business decisions that maximise shareholder value in other ways.”
