Carbery has joined other processors in moving to maintain its price for milk supplied in June.

It will pay a base milk price of 46.84c/l excluding VAT for June supplies at 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat.

If this decision is replicated across the four west Cork co-ops of Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh and Lisavaird, this will result in an average milk price of 48.59c/l, excluding VAT and including quality and sustainability bonuses.

A spokesperson for Carbery said: “While dairy markets remain relatively stable, geopolitical developments continue to create uncertainty globally.

“We continue to monitor developments closely with the aim of maximising shareholder returns.”

Tirlán, Kerry Dairy Ireland, Dairygold and Lakeland Dairies have all announced they will also hold their milk prices for June supplies.
