The Certified Irish Angus Schools competition has been running for over 10 years now, with Croke Park being a highlight of the process every year.

Run in conjunction with ABP and Kepak, the competition aims to encourage second-level students to gain an understanding about the care and attention that is required to produce and market the highest quality Irish Angus beef for consumers.

The initiative challenges groups of students to rear five Certified Irish Angus calves for 18 months and conduct research on a chosen topic.

On Friday 6 March, there will be 50 groups of Transition Year students exhibiting display stands in the Hogan Suite, Croke Park, showcasing their research and plans for their chosen topic.

These groups of students have already completed an initial video application and an in-person interview to reach this stage of the competition.
