The National Ploughing Association (NPA) and FBD Insurance have joined forces once again to deliver the 'keeping you safe' child safety wristband initiative at the 95th National Ploughing Championships.
The event takes place in Screggan, Tullamore, Co Offaly, on 15, 16 and 17 September.
The wristbands provide a space for parents or guardians to write a contact phone number, helping children to reunite with their families should they become separated at the event.
Over 40,000 wristbands will be available free of charge at the event entrances.
Peace of mind
Managing director of the NPA Anna May McHugh commented on the 'keeping you safe' initiative, saying the wristbands give parents and guardians extra peace of mind during the event and have become a trusted part of the National Ploughing Championships.
With hundreds of thousands of visitors expected to attend the event, McHugh said children can easily get distracted and the wristbands provide a simple yet effective way of helping families reunite if they become separated.
FBD Insurance CEO Tomás Ó Midheach said the wristbands are a simple but important way of helping families explore and enjoy everything the Ploughing has to offer with greater peace of mind.
“We hope every child visiting Ploughing 2026 wears an FBD wristband and enjoys a fun, memorable and safe experience,” he said.
