Seven clubs from across the country delivered a night of music, comedy, drama and dance, a celebration of creativity and the community spirit that defines Macra.
In her address, Macra national president Josephine O’Neill described Capers as “a true highlight of the Macra calendar”, recognising the weeks of preparation behind each performance and the courage it takes to perform on a national stage. She also acknowledged the importance of long-time sponsor FBD, whose support helps Macra continue to deliver opportunities that foster personal development among members.
Each club brought its own unique style to the competition. Bantry Macra opened the night with a lively variety show featuring modern dance, comedy sketches and musical numbers.
Freemount Macra impressed with a fast-paced storyline blending humour, romance and family chaos, complete with a standout trad pub scene.
Mountmellick Macra transported the audience into the mayhem of their fictional Grand Hotel, in a confident performance.
Kinsale Macra charmed with Notions and Potions, mixing song and dance with humour and a touch of magic.
Callan Macra’s Gogglebox Live! brought popular television moments to life through energetic choreography and laugh-out-loud sketches.
Kilmeen Macra, fresh from their recent revival, delivered a comedic take on a holiday gone wrong, while Waterfall Macra closed the night with a high-energy production packed with music and heart.
Overall results saw Freemount Macra take first place, followed by Callan Macra in second and Mountmellick Macra in third.
