A new third playing field, sports hall and additional car parking facilities are set to be developed on the new plot of land.
This land donation increases the area of ‘The Brickeys’ grounds to around 16 acres.
'Grateful'
Development officer for Brickey Rangers GAA club Brian Hilliard said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Magnier family for their generosity.
"This donation will help transform our club’s facilities for generations to come. It will mean new and improved facilities, including plans for a new playing field and sports hall.
“We were delighted with the gift, but also the sentiment behind it. Coolmore wanted to recognise the key role that both farming and the GAA play in retaining our young people in the area and in staying active. It’s a fitting sentiment given Coolmore’s rural operations across the globe.
“They have been very good neighbours and the club has had an excellent relationship with Coolmore over the years.”
