Members of north Tipperary IFA outside Bord Bia HQ on Wednesday morning.

The row between the IFA and Bord Bia could come to a head in the coming days, when both organisations will attend a meeting aimed at thrashing out the ongoing issues between the two camps. Convened by Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon, other farm organisations and industry bodies will also be in attendance.
In a letter to stakeholders, the minister said that he believes “that an opportunity exists through constructive dialogue to consider some of the specific issues which have been raised”. This includes what can be done to improve the experience for farmers around audits, while ensuring the Quality Assurance schemes are future-proofed, he said.
The meeting comes as the IFA continues to protest at the Bord Bia headquarters for an 18th day, with the protestors refusing to leave until Bord Bia chair Larry Murrin is removed.
