PN O’Gorman Auctioneers sold two farm properties at auction in recent days.

The firm sold a 164ac farm at Knockbrack, Glenmore, Co Kilkenny for €3.2m.

The property was first offered in lots but these did not attract any bids.

Attention then switched to the entire and it opened at €1.5m with four bidders then taking part.

The bidding rose in increments of €100,000 to €3m. The bidding reached €3.1m, at which point it was declared on the market.

Two remaining bidders then competed until the property was knocked down to a local dairy farmer, in the room, for €3.2m.

Tillage parcel

The same auctioneers also sold a parcel of 9.5ac at Ballygalvert, Ballywilliam, Co Wexford at auction.

This land is currently in tillage. The auction opened at €100,000 and two bidders then competed.

The land was withdrawn at €140,000 but was sold immediately afterwards, for a higher figure, to two adjoining farmers who plan to divide up the land.
