Dairygold is in the process of selling a historic Georgian residence in the heart of Buttevant, Co Cork.
A guide price of €210,000 is being quoted for Creamery House, a detached residence on the corner of an existing Dairygold site, which is located on Buttevant’s main street. The five-bedroom house extends to over 260 square metres or almost 2,900 square feet.
Along with the five bedrooms, Creamery House comes with a dining room, drawing room, kitchen and living room. There are also outbuildings connected to the house.
The protected structure retains many of the features of its Georgian heritage, the sales brochure states, with high ceilings, big rooms, traditional shutters and “classic architectural detailing”.
Dairygold told the Irish Farmers Journal that “it is no longer required for the business” and the sale is part of its “ongoing strategy of maximising the value of its commercial property portfolio and selling non-core properties at an appropriate time.” Last month Dairygold announced that it aims to sell a soft cheese manufacturing business that it owns in Leeds.
The Munster dairy processor also confirmed the closure of a factory in Crewe that produces grated, shredded, diced and sliced cheese. There are close to 90 people working at the facility.
