There are just two days left for property owners to file local property tax (LPT) returns for the 2026-2030 valuation period, as Revenue has urged those submitting returns to do so as soon as possible.

Returns must be submitted before 5.30pm on Wednesday 12 November and Revenue has encouraged homeowners to make their returns online via myAccount, ROS or the LPT online portal where possible.

LPT is self-assessed and this year’s deadline requires homeowners to complete their first revaluation since 2019.

Filings must set out the market value of their property as of 1 November 2025.

A helpline to assist those filling out LPT returns is available at 01-738 3626 and Revenue has said that the helpline has experienced “high demand”, handling around 7,000 calls every day in the run up to the deadline.

Correspondence

A further 100,000 pieces of correspondence are being actively worked on by Revenue officers.

“Revenue appreciates that the LPT revaluation only occurs every few years and that it can affect many people who do not otherwise engage with us,” a spokesperson said.

“We understand that some property owners may feel anxious about meeting their obligations, but we want to reassure them that we are taking a pragmatic and reasonable approach.

“Revenue encourages all property owners to file as soon as they are able, particularly those wishing to pay by monthly direct debit or deduction at source, as these payment methods must be set up in advance.”
