The Government is acutely aware of the challenges that all forms of agriculture have experienced this summer, according to Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture Niall Collins.
“We’re acutely aware of the issues and of the challenges,” says Collins.
When asked if the Government is going to introduce a fodder subsidy scheme, Minister Collins outlined that he and Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon are going to “keep everything under review”.
“There’s been a number of asks which have been tabled by the different farming representative organisations and the stakeholders. A lot of them have merit, and all of these decisions will be taken in the coming weeks in the context of the budget,” Minister Collins added.
