Farmer Time is an educational programme that connects primary and secondary school students with farmers through regular video calls.

The programme aims to give children an idea where their food comes from foster a deeper understanding of rural life.

Students from ages five up can engage directly with farmers, ask questions, and witness the day-to-day workings of farms in real-time.

Airfield Estate in Dundrum, Dublin supplies supplementary resources to help teachers integrate the programme into broader classroom learning and curriculum.

Farmer Time video calls are just 10 minutes long every 4 to 6 weeks.

Farmer Time started in Sept 2021 after a successful trial of four schools and farmers. Since then, 2,500 urban and rural students have been linked up with 90 farmers.
