Fuel and TB the headline issues in Tralee

The fallout from the recent fuel protests was the main topic of Kerry IFA’s meeting in the Rose Hotel Tralee on Thursday evening last.

Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley told those present that she would take the views from the meeting back to cabinet.

Farmers aired their grievances on the fuel crisis and said they were not happy with the Government’s handling of the protest.

There were also calls that the IFA should have supported the protests more.

TB was the other hot topic on the night with farmers asking why all the new regulations were being put in place when TB numbers are back from last year in the county and the number of reactors were going the right direction.

They also queried why all the extra testing was required and concerns were raised from the floor as to who would do the testing as there was a limited number of vets and they have enough to do already.
