The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) index has dropped at six consecutive auctions.

At the latest trading event on Tuesday the index fell overall by 2.4%.

The last time the index as a whole rose at the fortnightly auction was on 5 August 2025.

The price paid for whole milk powder (WMP) was back 2.7% to €3,042/t. WMP, on average, makes up just over half of the tonnage of product traded at the auction.

Skim milk powder (SMP) saw no movement in its price at €2,222/t. SMP, on average, makes up a quarter of the product bought at the GDT events.

Butter decreased in price by 4.3% to €5,533/t, while cheddar dropped by 6.6% to €3,864/t and anhydrous milk fat was back 1.9% to €5,981/t.

Meanwhile, the price paid for mozzarella increased by 1.6% to €2,871/t and butter milk powder rose by 1% to €2,439/t.
