The latest Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction fell by 2.7% on Tuesday 21 April to an average price of €3,523/t, marking the second consecutive decrease in the GDT price index.
Butter has taken another hit, falling by 7.9% to €4,848/t at the latest auction, as did anhydrous milk fat, as it decreased by 9.6% to €5,405/t.
Cheddar saw a slight increase of 1.1%, trading at €4,080/t, while mozzarella dropped by 3.1% to €3,274/t.
Skim milk powder traded at €2,932/t, an increase of 3.2%, while whole milk powder dropped by 0.6%, trading at €3,666/t.
Lactose was up 7.2% at the auction, bringing the price to €1,338/t.
The previous auction on 7 April recorded a 3.4% drop in the index, the first time the auction had seen a fall since December 2025.
