The Global Dairy Trade (GTD) index is down 0.3% on the last auction held a fortnight ago. However, whole milk powder (WMP), which makes up over half of the product traded, was up 0.3% to €3,458/t.
The price paid for skim milk powder (SMP), also traded in significant quantities, dropped 1.8% to €2,361/t.
Meanwhile, anhydrous milk fat saw its price increase by 1% to €6,064/t.

On the other hand, butter fell by 1% to €6,120/t, while both cheeses also decreased in price. Cheddar was back 0.5% to €3,896/t and Mozzarella was down 2.7% to €3,810/t.
No lactose was offered at the biweekly auction held on Tuesday 19 August. Prior to the latest auction, the GDT index had risen for two consecutive trading events, preceded by four consecutive drops.
