The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) index has increased for a second consecutive auction, up 1.5% at the latest trading event.

The GDT index was up 6.3% at the previous auction held two weeks ago, following months of decreases.

The price paid for whole milk powder (WMP), making up on average half of the product traded at these auctions, was up 1% to €2,965/t.

Skim milk powder (SMP), accounting for a quarter of the product traded on average, rose by 2.2% to €2,248/t.

Anhydrous milk fat increase in price by 3% to €5,323/t, while butter was up by 2.1% to €4,569/t.

Both cheeses traded were down - mozzarella by 2.3% to €2,872/t and cheddar by 1.4% to €3,950.

Lactose also dropped in price, it was back 1.8% to €1,191/t.
