A number of pedigree breed sheep societies will attend next week’s National Ploughing Championships.

They will be situated in their usual sheep pavilion marquee under the umbrella of the National Sheep Breeders Association, which will be home to a number of different sheep breeds for the three-day event.

The pavilion is always a huge draw for anyone interested in sheep and visiting the National Ploughing Championships.

The pavilion is always thronged with sheep enthusiasts with some great discussions over the three days of the event.

There are about 12 breeds of sheep being exhibited, with all of the main breeds having a presence in their own individual stands within the sheep pavilion.

The Irish Texel Sheep Society will be there, fresh from the success of its recent premier sale in Blessington Mart where records were broken at a very lively sale.

The Irish Charollais Sheep Society will also be exhibiting at this year’s championships. They, too, are enjoying increased demand for Charollais rams as recent sales results show.

Suffolk sheep will also be on display along with other breeds.
