Last month was the ninth-warmest July since climate records began in Ireland 126 years ago, Met Éireann has announced.
July 2025 was also the 12th warmest month ever on record on the island of Ireland, according to the national forecaster.

Continuing the recent warmer-than-usual monthly trend, this is the ninth consecutive month with temperatures in the respective top nine averages on record in 126 years of records.
A statement from Met Éireann on July’s weather said: “A build-up of the Azores high over Ireland resulted in plenty of sunshine and a hot spell from 10 July to 13 [July], in which temperatures surpassed 27°C on each day.
“Rainfall was unevenly distributed across the country during the month, with levels well above average in parts of the east and west, and well below average in parts of the south and north midlands.”
